Course Description

Training covering 1 phase, 3 phase and systems with parallel/alternative sources of supply. This course will ensure candidates know how to safely isolate electrical circuits

Our safe isolation course covers the following topics, which can be tailored to meet your needs if required:
·         Legislation and guidance with particular focus on the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989
·         Dangers arising from failure to safely isolate 
·         Test and isolation equipment requirements
·         Safe isolation procedures
·         Practical safe isolation assessment
·         Short multiple choice test

The course includes theory and practical training and we will supply all equipment. Delegates would be issued with a Certificate of Training on successful completion of the course.

Jon Grocock

Jon completed an electrical apprenticeship with Midlands Electricity Board (MEB). After qualifying and working as an electrician for a number of years he specialised in the security industry, installing systems including CCTV, door entry systems, intruder and fire alarms. After progressing to Project Engineer Jon took the opportunity of a complete change in career and moved into training.

Jon has worked in training since 2003 and is now responsible for Quality Assurance, Training Delivery and AM2 Centre Management.

Jon still plays an active role in delivery and specialises in:

  • City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing
  • City & Guilds 2396 Design, Erection & Verification

Shaun is a qualified tutor and assessor with a wealth of experience in the electrical contracting industry.  Having run his own business and worked for some established contracting companies Shaun is well placed to add ‘something extra’ to his course delivery.
