What are Apprenticeship Units?

Apprenticeship Units are short, flexible training courses designed to help employers upskill their workforce in key skills shortage areas.

Unlike a full apprenticeship, they focus on specific technical skills and can be completed as standalone training.

Based on existing employer-led occupational standards, Apprenticeship Units provide relevant, high-quality training focused on the skills and knowledge needed .

Who can apply?

To be eligible, you must be:

Aged 19 or over
Currently employed as an electrician on PAYE scheme
A fully qualified electrician

Please note that learners must also meet the City & Guilds course entry requirements

To enrol, you must provide evidence of a relevant qualification from the list below. These qualifications must have been completed within the past five years, or you must demonstrate that you have kept your knowledge up to date by holding the current Wiring Regulations qualification.

City & Guilds Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment (2357)
City & Guilds Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrotechnical Services (Electrical Maintenance) (2357)
City & Guilds Level 3 Electrotechnical qualification (5357)
City & Guilds Level 3 NVQ in Electrotechnical Services Experienced Worker (2356)
City & Guilds Level 3 Electrotechnical Experienced Worker Qualification (2346)
City & Guilds Level 3 Electrotechnical in Dwellings Experienced Worker Qualification (2347)
Other Awarding Organisations equivalences will also be acceptable
Equivalent historical qualifications Electrotechnical Assessment Specification or
ECS Gold Card issued by the JIB or SJIB – Installation Electrician, Maintenance Electrician, or Domestic Electrician.

Fully Funded Training

The training is available free of charge to eligible electricans through Government funding provided by the Growth and Skills Levy.

Learners who wish to gain the recognised City & Guilds qualification that supports compliance with the latest EAS requirements will need to complete the associated assessment. Eligibility criteria applies.

The assessment and certification fee is £198 + VAT per learner.

Access the Funding

To access Apprenticeship Funding, you must have an Employer Appenticeship Service Account.

If you do not already have an account, you can create one by following the below link:

You must add Rebus Training as your chosen training provider using our UKPRN which is 10032658.
You will also need to grant us permission to add learner records on your behalf.

If you have an existing Apprenticeship Service Account and Rebus Training is listed as a chosen provider, this account can be used to access Apprenticeship Unit funding.

Please Note: Your Apprenticeship Service Account must be set up and Rebus Training added as a chosen provider before you can book onto an Apprenticeship Units course.
