PAT Testing

Portable Appliance Testing can be a full-time career or a valuable add-on service offered by electricians and related trades.

Most workplaces and establishments require their electrical equipment to be routinely maintained to ensure that it remains safe and fit for purpose. As a result, portable appliance test engineers can quickly build up a client base that regularly requires repeat work.

Our training courses comply with the IET Code of Practice for In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment 5th Edition. Our trainers are occupationally competent and have years of industry experience to pass on to you.

Which course should I choose?

City & Guilds 2377-77 PAT -  2.5 day course
You can attend this course if are an electrician or even if you have very limited electrical knowledge but want the kudos and reassurance of a City & Guilds qualification. When you enrol for the 2377-77, you will automatically receive a free online course to bring you up to speed with the basics of electricity, electrical supplies, systems and equipment. After completing the online course you will attend face-to-face training covering the IET Code of Practice and giving you the practical skills to carry out PAT Testing.

RTL 3330 Portable Appliance Testing
Our in-house course is ideal for those who want to carry out portable appliance testing but do not require a formal City & Guilds qualification. This is a great introduction to PAT testing and is ideal if you are required to PAT test for your company.
