Course Description

This course is ideal for those that already have electrical knowledge and experience but require further training with respect to 3 phase electrical systems. The course will provide an understanding of 3 phase theory, systems, isolation and safe methods of work.

Our 3 phase electrical awareness training course is designed to give delegates a broad overview of 3 phase systems. Course objectives include:

  • 3 phase Generation, Transmission and Distribution
  • Electrical principles
  • Metering and consumers distribution equipment
  • Safe isolation
  • 3 phase electrical installations
  • Connection of single and 3 phase loads
  • Testing of 3 phase supplies
  • Electrical and other safety considerations

Who is it suitable for?

You should consider this course if you have previously completed electrical training such as a Domestic Electrical Installer course and want to further your knowledge of 3 phase electrical systems.

Course entry requirements?

Although there are no formal entry requirements for most of these qualifications, you should have an understanding of electrical supplies and systems.

Jon Grocock Joint Managing Director


Jon joined Midlands Electricity Board as an apprentice electrician. Working as an electrician for many years, he specialised in the security industry, installing CCTV, door entry systems, intruder, and fire alarms. Jon's final years at the MEB were as a Project Engineer.

In 2003, Jon took the opportunity to join a training provider to work as a Training Advisor/Assessor supporting apprentice electricians. Jon has worked in the training industry since that time.

Kevin Brough Electrical Tutor

Kevin has years of industry experience, having completed an electrical apprenticeship with a local council and subsequently worked in various roles at a significant housing association.

Kevin has completed a wide range of electrical and H&S qualifications during his career and has supported the development of electrical apprentices in the workplace.

Previously one of our AM2 Instructors, Kevin now teaches the 2391 course.
