Course overview

The Domestic Electrical Installation course is perfect for newcomers to the electrical trade looking to get started and learn the core skills needed for any domestic installation.

Who it’s for

This course is ideal for anyone who wants to become a fully qualified domestic electrician, is new to the industry or just wants to up their trade skills to diversify their careers.

What qualifications will I earn?

The course covers everything you’ll need to carry out domestic installation work. It includes the latest City & Guilds and LCL Level 3 qualifications to match the technical competence requirements of the Electrotechnical Assessment Specification and Competent Person Schemes (NICEIC, NAPIT and STROMA).

How long is the course?

The domestic electrical installer course consists of 36 days of scheduled training, additional home study and site experience. The Plus package requires 42 days of training, additional home study and site experience.

Does it make me a fully qualified electrician?

Both the Standard and Plus packages will train you to be a fully qualified domestic installer - which means you can work on residential properties. Many of our course attendees go on to set up their own businesses as domestic installers without needing to take additional training.

Once you have built up your experience on site you will then register with an industry body such as NICEIC or NAPIT for self-certification to expand your skills and grow your career. You can also return to Rebus to upskill in growing fields such as that of Electric Vehicle Charging installation.
