Electrical Installation Apprenticeships

Your new and exciting career in the electrotechnical industry starts here!

Electrical Installation Apprenticeships are an ideal way to start your career in a fast moving and diverse industry. If you train with Rebus Training you will have the benefit of working with Stoke on Trent's specialist electrical training and assessment centre.

Once you’ve started your Apprenticeship, you will:

  • be supported by tutors that are qualified electricians
  • earn a wage while you learn
  • become a qualified electrician in an industry with a skills shortage

Rebus Training is the areas only "one stop shop" for electrical apprenticeships and you will be able to study every aspect of the apprenticeship right here at our dedicated electrical training centre. Subject to any prior learning you may have, qualifications may include:

  • City & Guilds 5357 Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification
  • Level 2 Functional Skills in maths
  • Level 2 Functional Skills in English
  • City & Guilds 2382-18 Level 3 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • City & Guilds 2391-50 Level 3 Inspection and Testing
  • End Point Assessment – AM2s Assessment

You will typically be working with an Electrical Contractor and will complete a range of qualifications to achieve qualified status in the Electrotechnical industry. You will attend our approved training centre to study towards the City & Guilds 5357 Level 3 during a 3 year day release programme.  When not at our training centre, you will be gaining hands-on experience working alongside your employer. This is valuable learning time when you can practice what you have been taught and can learn additional skills from experienced electricians that you work with.

In order to start an apprenticeship, you need to have a job in the industry. As Rebus Training works with a huge number of potential employers in the Staffordshire and Cheshire areas we are able to support your search for employment.

There are many places you can go to find a job in the electrical industry:

  • the "Find an apprenticeship" website
  • local papers
  • internet job sites
  • contact local employers directly

You can also try friends and family to see if they know an electrician who might have a vacancy.

Perhaps the most important step is to register with a specialist electrical training provider that supports approximately 150 electrical installation apprentices.

Rebus Training helps many aspiring apprentices to find employment each year.  We will offer you a free initial assessment comprising maths and English assessments and a colour vision check. The assessment process will also take account of your prior learning such as GCSE results and any electrical qualifications that you may have.

Those that are successful with this assessment will be eligible to join our Approved Applicant Register. You will be provided with a Certificate of Eligibility to demonstrate to employers that you have the capacity to complete an Advanced Apprenticeship. Also, with your approval, we will publish your details in our online Approved Applicant Register. Employers looking to recruit an apprentice will then be able to review your details and ask our Apprenticeships Team to arrange an interview with you.

If you are interested in joining our Approved Applicant Register, please complete our online Approved Applicant Registration form.

What do Rebus Apprentices say about us?

I completed my apprenticeship with rebus as well as 18th edition and 2391 courses and I can’t fault the training and the support yourselves offer don’t think I’d be who I am and where I am today without yourselves.

Teaching is outstanding and the tutors are approachable which makes you feel confident in your lessons.

The classroom training helps me to understand the work I do on site.

I like the tutors spend one to one time.
