Course Description

This electric vehicle charging point installation course is a 2-day City & Guilds 2921 qualification (this course replaces the 2919-01 course). Throughout your training, you’ll develop and practise the skills required to work in the Electric Vehicle charging industry. This course is the latest City & Guilds 2921-31 Level 3 Award in Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installation and is suitable for those looking to become an approved EV charging point installer.

Rebus Training provides a FREE loan copy of the IET Code of Practice for Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installation for use during the course. This is an essential publication used throughout the course and during the examination and assignment.

About this course.

Aimed at experienced electricians this course will give you an overview of the wide range of equipment and systems available for this type of specialised installation. The 2921-31 course covers charging points in domestic and small commercial locations.

You will be guided through the IET code of Practice for Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installation through worked examples, job based scenarios and discussion.

Course entry requirements?

This course is intended for practising electricians, that are a minimum of 18 years old and must hold one of the following:

  • 2357 Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment (Buildings, Structures and the Environment)
  • 2357 Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrotechnical Services (Electrical Maintenance)
  • 5357 Level 3 Electrotechnical qualification
  • 2356 Level 3 NVQ in Electrotechnical Services Experienced Worker
  • 2346 Level 3 Electrotechnical Experienced Worker Qualification
  • Other Awarding Organisations equivalences will also be acceptable
  • Equivalent historical qualifications (see EAS Table 4B/4C) EAS Qualifications guide December 2020 (theiet.org)

or

  • ECS Gold Card, JIB Electrician or Approved Electrician Card

The qualifications above must have been achieved no more than 5 years prior to starting this qualification or there must be evidence the candidate has remained current by completing relevant CPD such as a City and Guilds 2382 or equivalent.

Assessment

At the end of your City & Guilds 2921 course, you will complete a computer-based multiple-choice exam and written assignement. Both assessments are open book so you will be able to reference to a ‘clean’ copy of the IET Code of Practice for Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installation.

Duration: 45 minutes

Number of questions: 28

Pass mark: 75%

Graded: Pass/Fail

Question type: Multiple choice computer based

On completion of the exam, you will normally receive a printed result slip within just a few minutes. Assuming you have been successful, a certificate will be available within 7 days of completing the course.

Question type: Written short answer and scenario-based questions
