Completing these qualifications and gaining valuable site experience will give you all the required tools to set up your own Domestic Electrical Installation business or work for an electrical contractor.

After completing this course and gaining employment in the industry you may wish to study towards the City & Guilds 2357 NVQ 3 Diploma to achieve fully Qualified Electrician status.

This course will improve your understanding which will enable you to accurately complete the Electrical Installation Certificate and Condition Reports.
City & Guilds 2919-01 Electric Vehicle Charging
2 days A course designed to give you an overview of the wide range of equipment and systems available for this type of specialised installation. The 2919-01 courses covers charging points in domestic dwellings, on-street locations, commercial and industrial premises.

 

During or on completion of these courses you will benefit from working alongside a trained electrician to apply your skills and knowledge and gain site experience.

Who is it suitable for?

You should consider a Domestic Electrical Installer course is if you have little or no experience and are for a looking for a career in the electrical industry.

Course entry requirements?

Although there are no formal entry requirements for most of these qualifications, you should have an eagerness to learn new skills and an aptitude for practical ‘hands-on work’.  Certain courses have a minimum age requirement of 18.

Assessments

Domestic Electrical Installer Assessments:

Throughout this qualification you will complete a range of assessments to help measure your progress. These will include multiple choice tests, practical assessments and written papers. All assessments are open book so that you can refer to relevant industry publications and guides

City & Guilds 2393 Building Regulations for Electrical Installations in Dwellings:

Exam Specification

Duration 40 Minutes
Number of questions 20
Question type Multiple choice
Permitted reference materials IET guide to Part P of the Building Regulations and NICEIC Electrical Installer’s Guide to the Building Regulations
Other allowed materials/equipment Plain paper, pens and non-programmable calculator

 

On completion of the exam you will normally receive a printed result slip within just a few minutes. Assuming you have been successful a certificate will normally be available within 7 days of completing the course.

City & Guilds 2392-10 Inspection and Testing Level 2 Assessments:

The qualification is assessed via a 100 minute multiple choice examination and a 2 hour practical assessment.  The exam is closed book.

These assessments are completed during the 4-5 day course.

City & Guilds 2382-18 18th Edition Assessments:

At the end of your 2382-18 course you will complete a computer based multiple-choice exam. This exam is open book so you will be able to reference to a ‘clean’ copy of BS7671 throughout.

City & Guilds 2391-52 Edition Assessments:

To achieve the 2391-52 qualification you will need to successfully complete a range of exams and practical assessments:

2391-052 – Online multiple-choice test

  • 60 Questions
  • 120 Minutes
2391-501 – Assignment comprising of:

Task A – 30 minute visual inspection

Task B – 2.5 hour Combined Initial Verification and Periodic Inspection of an installation

Task C – 1 hour 20 minute short answer paper (Open Book)


City & Guilds 2919 Assessments:
At the end of your City & Guilds 2919 course, you will complete a computer-based multiple-choice exam and practical assessment. Both assessments are open book so you will be able to reference to a ‘clean’ copy of the IET Code of Practice for Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installation.

Kevin has years of industry experience having completed an electrical apprenticeship with a local council and subsequently worked in a variety of roles at a large housing association.

During his career Kevin has completed a wide range of electrical and H&S qualifications and has supported the development of electrical apprentices in recent years.

Kevin is the main AM2 Instructor for our NET Approved AM2 centre which opened in 2016.
